Open challenge to Mr Chin Kwai Fatt and Dato' Johan Raslan, either deny the allegations or announce your resignation!

Mssrs Chin Kwai Fatt and Johan Raslan,

There has been no response from the either of you, or from PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia regarding the questions raised here since the beginning of December 2010.

Your firm has averaged three to four articles in the newspapers every month until November 2010, but we have heard nothing relating to you or your firm since the 29th of November. That is strange considering all the questions raised here.

'Elegant silence' does not apply to anyone unless they are already dead and buried. Even politicians do not get away with 'elegant silence' for long.

Mr Chin Kwai Fatt and Dato' Johan Raslan, deny the allegations here, or announce your resignation.

PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia employs more than two thousand people, and your continued silence undermines your staff, as they cannot answer on your behalf when asked about fraud and scandal involving their commanders-in-chief. In fact your staff should force you to answer so that they can once again hold their heads up high and walk proud as a part of the PwC family.

We challenge you to deny just one of the allegations and questions raised so far, and if you cannot, try to do the honourable thing for once and announce your resignations so the clean up can begin. Consider it fortuitous  that this is not feudal Japan, where honour when questioned, demanded far more permanent answers.

You owe answers not only to your firm and your staff, but to your clients, your fellow auditors, your friends and family, the regulators you have compromised, the punter sitting in front of the board praying for a sign to buy or sell, the taxpayers, and the good honest hardworking citizen who has placed his faith in you to safeguard the integrity of a significant part of what makes this country's economy viable.

Your continued silence, when even the most perfunctory search on you or your firm shows the questions that have been raised here is, beyond the pale.

The questions that have been raised here cannot be silenced any longer, they have been spread too far and wide for anyone to reign them in and tell them to hush. And as they keep spreading across the cyber world, and are repeated in conversations in the real world, your silence only becomes more deafening by the day.

How do you live with all that noise demanding answers?
